Closed form solution for radial distortion estimation from a single vanishing point
Radial lens distortion found in real, most notably off-the-shelf medium to wide angle optics can be quite severe. A-priori calibration remedies the problem, but requires access to the camera. Alternative approaches make use of correspondences in multiple images of a moving camera [3], relying on sufficiently overlapping views. Our paper fits in the category of techniques, where straight scene l...

We focus on the estimation of radial lens distortion utilizing vanishing points detected in single images. Recent methods for vanishing point detection either ignore radial distortion completely, or assume only weak distortion, which is accounted for after vanishing point estimation. Unfortunately, if strong radial distortion is present the effects are detrimental to the extraction of vanishing...
متن کاملOn a Classification of Gradient Shrinking Solitons
The main purpose of this article is to provide an alternate proof to a result of Perelman on gradient shrinking solitons. Moreover in dimension three our proof generalizes Perelman’s result by removing the κ-non-collapsing assumption and allowing general curvature growth. The method also allows us to prove a classification result on gradient shrinking solitons with vanishing Weyl curvature tens...

The main purpose of this article is to provide an alternate proof to a result of Perelman on gradient shrinking solitons. In dimension three we also generalize the result by removing the κ-non-collapsing assumption. In high dimension this new method allows us to prove a classification result on gradient shrinking solitons with vanishing Weyl curvature tensor, which includes the rotationally sym...
متن کاملModel-free Radial Distortion Correction of Wide Angle Lenses using Vanishing Points
In this paper, we proposed a new model-free method for correcting the radial distortion of a strong wide-angle lens using vanishing points in a single image. The key idea is to use a 3D concave calibration rig with three planar patterns aligned orthogonally with each other, so that the parallelism of the line patterns, orthogonality and concavity of the rig enable us to cope with the distortion...
